Obituary

Kirk Lewis Fausett passed away on June 16, 2024, in Irvine, California, ending a battle with cancer.

Kirk was born on October 6, 1963, in Provo, Utah to Lewis and Flarence “Kay” Fausett. He was raised in West Jordan and Bluebell, Utah. Growing up on a ranch instilled the values of hard work and helping others. He loved to ride horses and “broke” his own horse, Topper, when he was nine years old. After Kirk graduated from Altamont High School in 1982, he served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Toronto, Canada. This was an experience he treasured and shared precious memories throughout his life. Upon his return, he attended Brigham Young University (BYU).

In 1985, Kirk married Shari Bringhurst, and they became parents of two daughters, Kayla and Kassie. Later, Kirk and his family moved to California.

Years after his marriage ended, Kirk met Deena Earl in Big Bear, California, at a singles retreat when Deena offered a quiet place for his sleeping daughter. Kirk and Deena fell in love and were married in the San Diego California Temple. Two additional daughters, Kiara and Kallie, joined their family!

Kirk valued family-both immediate and extended-and loved reunions. He enjoyed playing with his grandkids… even after sitting in traffic on the 91, telling dad-jokes, and reminding his family how amazing Toronto is. He attended (and often assisted with) countless concerts, football games, theater and musical performances, dance and cheer competitions watching his daughters.

As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in a variety of church callings with individuals of all ages. Many people had the experience of being welcomed by Kirk.

Kirk enjoyed hunting (for elk and for the perfect beach spot), BYU football, Angels baseball, sharing navigation skills and tips, scuba-diving, singing, adventurous food, traveling, and calculating his own maneuvers in case he became a contestant on “The Amazing Race.” He was patriotic, was willing to help anyone, and could repair anything.

Kirk is survived by his wife, Deena; Daughters, Kayla (Steven), Kassie, Kiara (Ben), Kallie; Grandchildren, Peyton, Scotlynn, Zander, Iversen, with a baby on the way; Parents, Lewis and Kay Fausett; Siblings, Lee, Ramona, Denise, Scott, Luke, David, Shawn; many beloved in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, 82 nieces and nephews, and loved ones. He will be greatly missed!
