Obituary

Gilbert Correa

Born February 4, 1942 in Victor Rosales, Zacatecas, Mexico.  He came to the United States in 1953 and became a citizen in 1963.  He passed away in Mission Viejo on July 6, 2021.  He is predeceased by his father, Julian Correa, his sister Mirella Talamantes, aunt Jovita Correa and his nephews Eric Rodriguez and Kurt Correa.

He is survived by his wife, Bettie Correa, his mother Yrene Correa, brothers Daniel Correa (Martha), Manuel Correa (Cynthia), Ruben Correa (Eleanor), and sisters Lupe Rodriguez (John), Irene Huizar (Joe), Nadine Bretagna (Terry); sons Gilbert II (Susan), Dirk, daughters Juana Huber (Alan)  and Ashley Correa; Grandchildren Matthew Correa (Patricia), Adam Correa, Noah Correa, Marina Correa, Lauren Fisher (Geoff Taff), Lindsey Correa (Juan Hernandez}; Jack Huber, Dylan Huber, and Alex Huber and Aidan Nicholson; great grandchildren  Julian Fisher, Joaquin  Fisher, Elijah Fisher, Keira Taff, Carson Taff, Ashlynn Taff, Joseph Correa,  and Malani Rodriguez.

He graduated from Rancho Alamitos High School and California State University Long Beach.  He had a successful career as a civil engineer with the Irvine Ranch Water District for approximately 30 years.  He enjoyed being of service to his parish, St. Kilian Catholic Church in Mission Viejo and being a member of the Knights of Columbus.

His funeral mass will be held at St. Kilian Catholic Church, 26872 Estanciero Drive, Mission Viejo, CA 92692 on July 16, 2021 at 9:30 am.
