Free Continuing Education Webinar: Reducing the Risk of Falls for Older Adults

Fall Risk Reduction: Learn about the causes and risk factors for falls among older adults, which is the leading cause of death and injury for the elderly. Also covered are guidelines for how to prevent falls, techniques for how to safely transfer, and how to safely get up a er a fall has occurred.

At the completion of the course, the participant will be able to:

  • Identify reasons why falls occur
  • Describe tips for preventing a fall before it happens
  • Identify safety techniques that help with a safe transfer
  • Describe how to safely get up from a fall

Presenter: Karyl Dupee is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and the Clinical Supervisor of Senior Services at St. Jude Medical Center where she oversees community outreach programs for seniors. She also hosts the North Orange County Senior Collaborative, facilitates the Healing Hearts bereavement group, helped to develop and publish the Senior Resource Guide, and teaches a free Senior Resource & Planning Class 101 for seniors and caregivers.
